but unfortunatly … but unfortunatly your body`s going to be smaller, because of the pressure in the water.
the deeper you dive, the more the pressure.
and this situation you called an “implossion”
It`s just the opposite of an “explosion”
“love your body”
Possibly, but you … Possibly, but you have to get your heart rate up the same as when your running or cycling to burn the same amount of calories. Just toddling around the pool is about as useful as a slow walk, which is easier, cheaper, more comfortable, and more practical.
Bottom line; unless your joints are REALLY BAD, hit the road, not the pool. You’ll be more motivated to push yourself and really give your cardiovascular system a workout.
My 2 cents: I’ve … My 2 cents: I’ve used the eliptical for around 2 months, 4-5 days a week, 30min and resistance 11 on life fitness machines. I have lost a good amount of weight but one thing… If you do sports like me, don’t use the eliptical. Its good for losing weight but you won’t increase your endurance playing for ex./ basketball. Theres a reason why you can do 30min hard on an eliptial and struggle with the treadmill. If your goal is to lose weight and don’t play sports I would suggest the eliptical
It’s not good for … It’s not good for losing weight (it has to be done for very long periods of time) and therefore it’s too difficult for the average person. Sorry, it’s just science and biochemistry.
That depends on the … That depends on the resistance. Some people just hold on as the handles are swinging. I prefer running outside as well. It’s much more difficult than treadmill or elliptical and it’s much more enjoyable. Is it bad for the joints? I really believe that depends on your genetics. Some people jog into their 80’s.
Steve, what if you … Steve, what if you were to spend an equal amount of intensity on the treadmill as you would on the elliptical, would you get a better workout on the elliptical because you are using your arms? (PS: Is running on a hard surface such as a sidewalk bad for your joints? I tend to like running outside more than in a gym since it gives me a change of scenery and fresher air )
I’ve switched to a … I’ve switched to a new cardio program on the stationary bike. 16 minutes, 1 minute moderate, 2 minutes intense, and repeat. Burns 235 calories in 16 minutes as opposed to around 300 calories over a moderate pace at 30 minutes.
Well I guess I’ll see how it works out.
I use the … I use the elliptical because I’m tall and the pounding of sprinting on a treadmill bothers my knees. I used to run a lot but now I like the elliptical, and it has kept me in just as good of shape.
=you can just go … =you can just go outside and walk or run. but then again treadmills and ellipticals are great for staying in shape in the winter time
Yeah, obviously … Yeah, obviously cardio done full-out is more effective than cardio done half-mast. He totally side-stepped the point of the question. I wonder why.
According to my … According to my doctor, ellipticals are better for very overweight people because it reduces stress on the ankles. My husband stopped using the treadmill for this reason and now he gets on the elliptical for 20 minutes and no longer experiences knee and foot pain.
